InDesign CS: The Backwards Line
I was working in InDesign CS the other day when I noticed something kind of odd. I was drawing a line under the company name for an envelope design when I noticed the “thick-thin” line was upside down. It took me a second to figure out why this happened.
Normally I draw my lines from left to right. InDesign looks at this as the default way of drawing lines and as you can see from the image below the “thick-thin” line appears to be correct.

Now this is where it got a little quirky on me. If you draw the line from right to left, you can see in the image below that the “thick-thin” line doesn’t match the setting above it (marked with the red arrow). The reason for this is because it considers the line to be flipped 180 degrees if you draw from right to left.
