Layers Magazine: Free Adobe CS2 Tips

I have been receiving daily tips from Layers Magazine since before they changed their name from Mac Design. These tips are great. If you use Adobe CS2 in any way, I highly recommend the free email subscription (top left section) to the Layers Tip of the Day.

I, personally, save all the tips in a folder so if I ever have something I am stumped on I can do a quick search the folder. I don’t always get a hit but once in a while I find the issue I am having was addressed in one of their past tips. It’s a great little resource to have.

Here is an example of one of their tips:

Adobe InDesign CS2 Tip – Guides that Spread Across a Whole Spread

I love that “Snap To” feature (View > Grids & Guides > Snap To) that allows you to “snap to” a selected page item when dragging new Guides from your Rulers. But dragging to an item on a particular page will only create a Guide on that page. What if you want the Guide to go across the whole spread? Easy! Drag the guide off your ruler while holding down your Command key (Control key on PC). Your guide will now spread across the whole spread making it easy to align object straight across.

I also recommend the magazine. It’s full of great tutorials, tips and articles on everything Adobe. You can find out information about more about the magazine on their site.
