I have seen a couple of other designers using the site Tiny URL to convert their long urls into much more managable ones. Jeff Fisher of bLog-oMotives, was probably one of the first that I noticed using this. It wasn’t until recently on the Graphic Design section of About.com that I read an article about this neat little web tool.

It is definitely frustrating when you are IMing or Emailing a link to someone and it gets broken so that it doesn’t work right. Tiny URL helps to prevent any issues with your url. I know that I’ll definitely be using this tool any time I need to send a lengthy url to someone.
