Making Your iPod Stand Out
A couple of months ago my brother came in to see our parents and we were all together for dinner when we ran into a real interesting situation. We had three iPods sitting on the counter. One was mine, one was my brothers and one belong to my dad. After dinner we went to pick up our own iPods and actually had to hesitate for a second. They were all white and pretty much identical, except for a little more wear on my dads. He is an audiobook junky so he uses his constantly. The only way we could truly figure out which one belonged to who was to turn them on and check what was on them. It was quite amusing.
Tonight I came across an interesting post over at Designorati about a way you can avoid the above situation. iPods: They’re All Dressed Up and Steppin’ Out talks about how…
“HP has come up with a way to make your iPod truly your own: printable adhesive tattoos you design and print. You can choose from designs on the site, or you can use your own images.”
I think the part that impresses me the most is the fact that you can design and print your own images. This means you can truly make it “your own.” Not only can you design your own but you can do it over and over again. As long as you have the special tatoo sheets, which actually come in packs of 10 you can change your tatoo whenever you get the whim.
It could be really interesting to see what iPod tatoo designs come out of the design community. If you have done one, would you care to share? I know I would love to see them.
