Monopoly Tokens: All about brands!
It appears that Monopoly, which was designed back during the depression, has decided to update its game tokens. Personally, I think it’s about time. I laughed at what some of them are. A Motorola flip cell phone, a mug of Starbucks coffee, a jet plane and McDonalds french-fries. The McDonalds one doesn’t surprise me in the least after Monopoly’s partnership with McDonalds for many years. Supposedly there were no deals struck with the specific companies that the tokens represent but I am not so sure if I believe that. After all, isn’t one of the biggest marketing ploys “product placement”?
You can find out more about these new tokens at Monopoly’s website. The name of the new game is Monopoly Here and Now edition. According to the website not only are their new icons but there are 22 new properties.
Is there a specific item that you think should have been made into a token for Monopoly?

Well they have most of the bases covered in this, Mc’s fries, cell phone, an eco-car…how bout an ipod, thats a regular phenomenon in our world. I’d also lol if they decided to put in the Segway, which was supposed to change everyone’s life…guess that failed.
I like one of the new blue spaces, representing Boston, Fenway Park should be a favored location. Either way, the update is very nice, can’t wait to play!

Wow! I can’t believe they didn’t put an iPod. If that doesn’t say Here and Now I don’t know what does. Good call Carl.
