NBC’s Super Brand at Work

I was watching TV last night when something dawned on me. The NBC.com logo that appears repetitively through the night is actually just the logo with “.com”. Not the letters NBC but just the logo. I probably didn’t notice this before because I just read it as NBC even though there were no letters that said that. I knew that’s what it meant just based on the logo. Now that is a powerful brand in my eyes.

This is a perfect example of the importance of a good business identity or brand. Obviously the NBC brand was built over many, many years but with the right logo you can have a similar effect. Having the right brand can be powerful.

According to Wikipedia:

However, today it is what they do for people that matters much more, how they reflect and engage them, how they define their aspiration and enable them to do more. Powerful brands can drive success in competitive and financial markets, and indeed become the organization’s most valuable assets.”

What makes things even more difficult when deciding on a brand is the fact that we are bombarded by 100s if not 1000s of logos a day. Working with a designer to have your brand stand out above and beyond the rest is important. Recognition is key!
