Time Machine: I love you!
The new program that is part of Mac OS Leopard called Time Machine is by far one of the best pieces of software out there today. It has saved my rear on a few occasions already. It is so simple to use and so quick to restore any files I need.
An example is when I was working on a catalog and I accidentally saved over the original when I was making some run specific changes. I was able to go to the hour before and restore the file I had saved over. This saved me hours of work to put the file back to it’s original format. This is only one example but it shows how beneficial this software can be. If you haven’t tested it out and are using Leopard…YOU SHOULD!
Over on The Graphic Mac, James posted about how to make a bootable Time Machine backup drive. As he states it can be time consuming trying to boot from a DVD and this appears to be a quicker way of booting up from a backup.
Also, Apple just released Time Capsule which is “a wireless hard drive that works seamlessly with Time Machine in Mac OS X Leopard.” This just adds more power to an already great software!
